Rapinoe joined in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Independence for a short time before she was transferred into Boca Raton Florida. She scored two goals and eight games of her own, helping the magicJack achieve the league's highest third place finish in the year. The magicJack was disbanded by late 2011. Then, the WPS collapsed early 2012. Rapinoe played for Sydney Football Club FC in the Australian W-League for a couple games before she returned to America. After that, Rapinoe played for the Seattle Washington Sounders Women - which is now Sound FC. Rapinoe's 2013 season was spent doing soccer with France. She was a member of Seattle Reign FC, now OL Reign in the National Women's Soccer League NWSL which was created following the dissolution of WPS. Rapinoe was eventually promoted to the role of captain and became the team's best scorers. The first time Rapinoe played was at this tournament in the FIFA Women's World Cup in the year 2011. In the years 2015 and 2019 her contributions have helped players from the U.S. Women's World Cup winning team to win consecutive World Cups. In 2018, she was made cocaptain. In the 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo Japan postponed until 2021 because of COVID-19 pandemic Rapinoe recorded two goals in the bronze medal match as her team from the United States defeated Australia by an aggregate total of 4-3.
